Here’s what to think through as you make your plan
My People
- Identify your core group—family, friends, neighbors, or caregivers.
- Who will you check in with first during an emergency?
- Who may need extra help, like an older adult, person with disabilities, or a child?
- Who can pick someone up if needed?
Our Meeting Spots
- Choose locations that are near where you will most likely be, are easy to reach without a car, and easy for everyone to remember.
- Open spaces, like parks, make good meeting spots because they are away from buildings, trees, and power lines that could become hazards.
- Choose at least two locations where your group can reunite.
Our Out-of-Area Contact
- Choose a trusted friend or family member who lives in a different region and can relay information to keep everyone connected. Calls out of San Francisco are more likely to go through when networks are damaged.
- Everyone in your group should check in with this person.
- They can help relay messages and coordinate your next steps.
